Poker terms beginning with a "5"

5-Bet

A 5-bet is an aggressive poker action, where someone re-raises a 4-bet.

5-Bullet Bluff

A term used when a player bluffs on all five betting rounds, including the pre-flop, flop, turn, river, and possibly the final bet in games with multiple betting rounds.

5-Card Draw

In 5-Card Draw, each player receives 5 cards known only to them; there are no shared cards. You may exchange cards once. This classic poker variant is seen in almost every Western film. Fortunately, unlike in movies, 5-Card Draw games nowadays rarely lead to shootouts.

5-Card High-Low

A variation of the poker game where the pot is split between the highest hand and the lowest hand. Each poker hand consists of five cards, as is the case with most poker games.

5-Card Omaha

A variant of Omaha poker where each player is dealt five hole cards instead of four, with the standard rules of Omaha applying.

5-Card Stud

5-Card Stud is a poker variant where each player receives five cards, with the first one dealt face-down. The remaining four cards are visible to all players. (See also stud game.)

5-Card Stud High-Low

A variation of 5-Card Stud where the pot is split between the highest and lowest hands.

5th Street

When playing 5-Card Stud, the term 5th street refers to the fifth card of each player's dealt hand (the fourth open card in the hand).

5th Street Blues

A poker term used by Stud players when someone receives a bad card on the 5th street (the fourth open card in Stud). See also 5-Card Stud and 5th street on this page.

5th Street Special

A term used when a player wins a hand by making a strong hand on the river, often coming from behind.
