Poker terms beginning with a "4"

4-3-2-1

An alternate betting structure in which bets and raises are restricted during the initial two rounds. $4 may be wagered during the first two betting rounds, $3 during the third betting round, and $1 during the final betting round.

4-Bet

A 4-bet. denotes an aggressive poker move. It entails a re-raise following a bet, a raise, and a re-raise.

4-Bullet Bluff

A term used when a player bluffs four times in a hand, typically pre-flop, on the flop, the turn, and the river.

4-Card Badugi

A variant of poker where players aim to make the lowest hand possible with four cards of different suits and ranks.

4-Color Deck

A deck of cards where four colors are used to distinguish the suits better. Hearts are red, diamonds green, clubs blue, and spades black.

4-Flush

Refers to having four cards of the same suit, needing one more card to complete a flush.

4-Handed

A poker game with only four players participating. It is a type of short-handed poker game.

4-High

A hand where the highest card is a 4, usually in Lowball poker games or as a weak high card hand in games like Texas Hold'em.

4 of a Kind

The term 4 of a kind describes having four cards of the same value (ranging from 2222 to AAAA). Another term for this hand is quads.

4-Liner

A community card board in Texas Hold'em or Omaha where four cards to a straight are present, increasing the likelihood that someone has a straight.

4th Street

In Five Card Stud, 4th street refers to the fourth card dealt to each player, the third one revealed.

4-Street Bluff

A bluff that continues through all four betting rounds: pre-flop, flop, turn, and river.

4-Way

An active pot where the remaining four poker players compete against each other.

4-Wide

Refers to a situation where the community cards offer four possible suits to complete a flush, making it less likely any one player has a flush.
